Entering the world of Amazon Web Services (AWS) may seem daunting, but creating and activating a new account is actually a very straightforward process. This article will guide you through each step, ensuring you can set up smoothly and start using AWS.
Registering for an Amazon Web Services Account

Visit the AWS Homepage
Open the Amazon Web Services homepage.

Create a New Account
Click “Create an AWS Account”. If you have recently signed in to AWS, select “Sign in to the Console”. If “Create a new AWS Account” is not displayed, first select “Sign in to a different account”, then select “Create a new AWS Account”.

Enter Your Email Address
In the “Root user email address” field, enter your email address, edit the AWS account name, and then select “Verify email address”. You will receive an email containing a verification code.
Tip: Use a company email distribution list (for example, [email protected]) as the root user email address to maintain account access when employees change.

Verify Your Email Address
Enter the verification code you received, then select “Verify”.

Set Your Password
Create and confirm your root user password.

Select “Personal” or “Business” account type, and fill in the corresponding personal or business information.

Activating Your Amazon Web Services Account

On the billing information page, enter your payment information and verify it.

Verify Your Phone Number
On the confirm identity page, select the contact method to receive the verification code and enter your phone number.

Select a Support Plan
On the select support plan page, choose an appropriate plan based on your needs.

Wait for Account Activation
The activation process typically completes within a few minutes, but may take up to 24 hours. Once complete, you will receive an email confirmation.
